Bullying over the internet is globally called cyber-bullying. Almost half of UK’s children are victims of cyber-bullying and it has become a part of their daily life. A study shows India is ranked third in cyber-bullying. Even though children go to their parents for help, four out of ten parents are ignorant to deal with their child’s problem. Many teachers in UK don’t know how to handle such problems and wish it were made a part of the national curriculum. Here are a few tips to protect yourself and other children from cyber-bullying:-
*Be very careful of where you share pictures, files, messages and attachments. Anyone can see them and you never know when it may fall into wrong hands.
*Don’t share your account passwords with anybody, not even your friends.
*If you are being cyber-bullied, you should inform your parents immediately.
*You can file the posts/comments which the bully sends in a separate word document and share it with an adult.
