During Diwali season, T-Nagar used to be over crowded. It would be impossible to be protected from thefts. But now days by using new technology, policemen monitor the security cameras on the roads by sitting in a room, watching Ranganathan Street, Panagal Park and the bazaar areas including South and the North Usman roads. It has two big screens that receive footage from 16 CCTV cameras and it is in touch with five watch towers, 200 policemen and 50 traffic policemen for each day and night shifts are appointed to watch the crowd. There are announcements about safety recorded by a news reader and a child to capture people’s attention. The special features of this circuit television system are,
